Sunday Stash - Wee Wander by Sarah Jane

There are just some fabrics that when you see them you know you just have to have them! Sarah Jane's Wee Wander collection was just that for me. When I first saw this fabric I ordered it straight away. The collection comes in two distinct colourways, Sunrise and Twilight. I chose to work with some fabrics from the Sunrise range and was fortunate enough to be commissioned to make a single bed quilt from this line.

These larger prints and so cute and feature children playing and riding horses. There is just something magical about hand drawn images like these on fabric taking us back on a journey to our childhood. These prints will be a key feature of the quilt.

I've also included some blenders from the range which will be perfect for some borders and some feature corners. The darker pink (Nature Walk in Magenta) will border the quilt perfectly.
I can't wait to get started on this one !!

It's Sunday so I'm linking up with Molli Sparkles Sunday Stash weekly linky party.

Till next time.....happy sewing...

    1. Mara, I agree! I scoured all over to see the prints better. In this image on SJ's blog, each of the larger prints is about to scale for slightly less than a FQ, You get a few more of each cute image on a FQ, but not much. http://sarahjanestudios.com/blog/2013/11/introducing-wee-wander/

    2. I bought yardage of the larger prints to ensure I could fussy cut if needed. Summer Ride in White (the horses print) is fairly repetitive with the horses and every so often their is a little girl riding one. The other large print I have (Wander Woods in Petal) has amazing little pictures all over and there is so many different little things to see. I think this in a fat quarter would not let you see the true magic of this print so I'd suggest at least a half yard on that one.

    1. I am in a little dilemma at the moment the fabric is so pretty I don't want to cut it up... I'm just sketching up my design at the moment to make sure I make the most of all the detail.

  4. So pretty. I've just ordered a charm pack of this for myself. I don't do much girlie sewing, but I do want to have a little of this so once the charm pack arrives I'm going to pick a couple of my favourite prints and get some yardage too.

    2. I'm the same way! It's a departure from what I usually sew with, but EVERY time I see people posting pictures of yardage or projects using this, I swoon… Maybe I'll have to take the plunge.
