Sunday Stash - Red and White

It's a long weekend here in Australia so I'm making this post short and sweet. I purchased this fabric last month from Craft Depot - a great local quilting shop. It was simply called Redworks. I was looking for something for a Christmas quilt but liked the idea of red and white then the quilt could be used all year round and not packed away once the festive season was over.

I bought 2 of the fat quarter bundles there was 8 fabrics to a bundle and also some yardage for sashing and a border.

I already have a design in mind which I was lucky enough to have accepted by one of the Australia Quilting magazines for their Christmas edition which will be on sale in September.

It's Sunday so I'm linking up with Molli Sparkles Sunday Stash weekly linky party.

Till next time.....happy sewing....

  1. We had a public holiday last weekend in WA. Wouldn't mind another though! Love the red fabrics! How did you get involved with the magazines?

    1. Joanna I actually just approached a few of the magazines I regularly purchase with some of my ideas and designs and was fortunate enough to have the editors like some of my suggestions. It's very exciting for me as a self taught quilter to feel like my work is being validated in print.

  2. Not typically a fan of red. . . BUT these fabrics are delish! I might have to rethink my red aversion :)

Congrats on the magazine publication, how exciting!

  6. I love classic red and white quilts. There is so much variety of design with a limited palette. I've been curating red and whites for a while now.

  7. I love red and white for Christmas and I think it's a great idea to make something you can use throughout the year. Your fabrics are lovely :)
